I have been working at Alberta Energy Regulator full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This is a great place to work if you have a lot of other things going on in your life. There’s lots of time off and the working environment is pretty relaxed.

    Cons

Pay is horrible for technical people (engineers, geologists, techs). There is also little opportunity for technical mentor ship. If you are a self-started and heavily involved in professional societies this shouldn’t be an issue though.

    Advice to Management

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about the pay, so keep doing what you’re doing.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Alberta Energy Regulator in February-2016.

    Interview

Excellent procedure! All was done by telephone since I was in a different city. The interviewers were 1 member of the HR team and 2 technical recruiters. Behavioural and technical question, nothing too difficult.
