I have been working at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Many of the grizzled veterans are being forced into early retirement, and the institution is bustling with challenges/opportunities for those with a vision and strong passion for higher education.

    Cons

Deplorable working conditions, inadequate facilities, low student, staff and faculty morale, disconnected and delusional leadership on many levels. A general lack of professionalism throughout.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in improving working conditions and renovating outdated buildings. Continue to push out those not willing to change. Step into the 21st century, particularly in terms of technology!

    Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (Huntsville, AL (US)) in January-2016.

    Interview

The position required multiple levels of the interview process, including a committee interview and a skills test. Each person on the panel asked at least 3 questions. The skills test consisted of typing, a writing sample, math skills and reading comprehension.
