    Pros

ATA really takes its values seriously:
    - Ownership. ATA gives a lot of ownership. Even a junior can make important decisions.
    - Have wonderful arguments. ATA's leads do a lot of work to make arguments feel safe, so you can really dig down to the truth and say what you think without worrying about hurting your career.
    - Keep Growing. My lead asks me every 2 weeks if I am feeling challenged. If not, we make a plan to change that.
    - Best Ideas Win. OK, ATA is still working on this one but closer than any other company I've seen. The important thing is that the plan for the next few years is really exciting, which is only happening because the best ideas win.

    Cons

    - Development is slow on live ops games. Too few engineers in the company.
    - Some old tech causes headaches, needs to be replaced. Some old games are not in a modern engine.
    - ATA's social scene didn't survive the COVID shutdown. Most non-work related channels are dead or just filled with useless clickbait articles.
    - Leads might be too soft, some people abuse the freedom they are given

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at A Thinking Ape.

    Interview

2 Technical video screens, one was one-on-one and another was with 2 interviewers. No behavioural questions asked but a brief introduction was given. Each video screen is 30 minutes long, but had enough time to finish each question efficiently easily.

    Interview Questions

    • You are given a stream of information in the form of "x student is taller than y student". You want to query "who is the tallest student?" at any point in time. Write 2 functions, one that adds the information from the stream, and the second that responds to the query.   1 Answer
