I have been working at Teachers Pay Teachers full-time (More than a year)
1. Work life balance
2. Candid environment
3. Above average leadership
1. Diversity needs serious work, especially on the engineering side
2. Base pay hasn't caught up with market
3. Strategy is often unclear
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Teachers Pay Teachers (New York, NY (US)) in June 2021.
Overall it was a very positive experience. I was referred to Teachers Pay Teachers and heard from a recruiter soon after.
The first round was a fairly standard coding challenge with some behavioral questions mixed in.
After that the virtual onsite was 6 rounds:
2 Systems Design
1 Product Manager Conversation
1 Virtual Coffee with two engineers
Everyone I talked to was extremely nice. I appreciated them setting aside time for a more informal coffee chat even during the pandemic which helped give a sense of what it's like to work there. The company seems like a great place to work and very mission-driven.
The communication was great throughout the process too, the recruiting team was very responsive and they were willing to schedule additional informational interviews with the engineering team after I'd received the offer.
