I have been working at Search Consultancy as a contractor (Less than a year)
Paid on time- however many of my colleagues didn't even experience this.
Not holding up contracts, misleading job titles, unable to approach upon any work queries, inappropriate time scale when ending contracts, ignored upon all payment enquiries in writing or verbally, inappropriate way in which ended contracts (for those who were simply having them ended), general unprofessional attitude and disrespectful verbal conduct, not upholding health needs for many colleagues, unable to process correct taxes, using emergency contacts as means of personal contact/ to find out information on employees, data protection issues (did not sign up with search or allow a body to pass on my details nor was I asked to be placed on their payroll rather than the company I applied for), not upholding promised pay after having worked the agreed and signed for pay/hours for "business decisions". Signed agreed pay is not negotiable after it has been performed.
Don't work for this agency, people will tell you this is what it's like working for an agency, i's just not true. You can do temporary work and be treated like a valued person in most agencies. This is the worst agency I have ever dealt with, I was utterly surprised at how large their business was considering the unprofessional manner they dealt with their staff. You will get no holidays here and threatened to have your accumulated holiday pay not given to you at the end of employment for completely illegal reasons. When colleagues rang head office this was cleared as false however, but it doesn't mean they didn't try it. Good Luck!
Advice to Management
Treat your employees in the manor the employee rights act demands, treat your employees as capable adults, treat your employees as valuable assets of your company. Train your management in personable skills and encourage them to read the employee rights act before they speak. I worked as a temp, your temps are valuable because they reflect you within the company you have placed them in, they are also the commodity you trade in through recruitment.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Search Consultancy (Runcorn, England (UK)) in June 2015.
They telephone interviewed me, when that went ok they invited me for an interview in person. Everyone that attended that day was hired. They expressly said it was an area of business that people would call to purchase items, mentioning nothing about complaints and angry customers. I would be working for a very famous store, renowned in the UK for its value and excellence. I wasn't in fact employed by that store. It was a company that hires people to pretend to work for that company.
