Application
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MNP LLP (Vancouver, BC) in November 2020.
Interview
Was referred through my network to the relevant practice. I did not apply for the role. MNP said they hired for fit first, and the interview reflected that. They were keen I had the right character to fit in, even though I lacked deep technical experience in the role they were hiring me for (although I had comparable experience and the interview process confirmed the transferable elements).
Overall, it was a conversation, and I wasn’t at all made to feel like a candidate. One of the rounds was 2hrs only answering my questions for the role and firm.
I spoke to the partners within the firm, who were pleasant, engaging and down to earth. They were people I wanted to work with.
I’ve selected “average” for the interview difficulty, not because they weren’t rigorous, but only because neither side had an issue satisfying themselves on the fit of my candidacy.
