I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at MNP LLP (Montreal, QC).
Not really relevant anymore as was long prior to merger. But overall experience was positive, discussed goals and prior experience, education. One on one discussion with the HR Manager and then one of the partners. I believe the recruitment process for juniors has been formalized since then, although seems to still be a pleasant process.
Opening salaries for juniors are fairly industry standard. Negotiation is more likely once the employee has proven themself to a certain degree.
