I worked at Grant Thornton full-time (More than 5 years)
Great culture that is emphasized regularly and embodied by genuine, professional, and friendly coworkers. Was agile and quick to react to COVID-19 pandemic in a meaningful, helpful way and was supportive and protective of its people throughout. Is winning work consistently, even clients away from Big4, so business future looks bright. Supportive coaching/mentoring program. Plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. Challenging, development-focused environment with lots of early opportunities to contribute to client engagements/projects in a meaningful way. Excellent work-life balance, *at least as far as public accounting goes.* Flexibility and unlimited PTO policies are great. Focus on audit quality and on the future of accounting--consistent investments in forward-looking technologies and digital tools/techniques.
Some outdated administrative software/tools (but firm is always looking to upgrade as budget/resources permit). At times, lack of adequate staffing leads to overworked teams/managers and staff being assigned work that is above their pay grade.
Advice to Management
Focus on recruiting/hiring efforts as much as possible to adequately staff teams with good people. Encourage firm leadership to explore innovative ways to improve compensation structure to help improve salaries/wages for staff.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Grant Thornton (Salt Lake City, UT (US)) in September 2019.
Applied online and received an email from two HR recruiters.
Recruiter set a date and time for interview, but then later cancelled by recruiter. Rescheduled and the phone interview was very short, less than 10 minutes and was behavioral questions. Recruiter didn't know anything about the position or the details about the job which was strange. Kept telling me to ask the hiring manager.
Recruiter was interested if there was prior government experience or security clearances, but that is it.
Scheduled phone interview with hiring manager, but they cancelled 10 minutes before the call. No explanation why and no follow up.
Extremely unprofessional and lack of care.
