I worked at GlaxoSmithKline full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Opportunities for career development and conducive work environment.

    Cons

Due to size of the company (and scale of operations) and the regulation of the industry the systems can be inflexible, limiting competitiveness and innovation.

    Advice to Management

GSK has a great mission supported by values that can be matched by few Multinational companies. Balancing the interests of shareholders and patients in especially less developed countries will always remain a challenge to the Global Executive Team and the Board. Maintain special consideration to the under-served to ensure that outsiders see the company as a truly caring partner in healthcare addressing global health issues.

    Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at GlaxoSmithKline (Nairobi (Kenya)) in February 2014.

    Interview

Very intensive, professional and specific. Its quite along process and it takes a sequence of interviews and one has to wait for a duration of time before screening for entry into the organization.
