Fun, lively culture. Encourage entrepreneurial attitude. Have avoided becoming too corporate despite size of global business.
Difference in time zones between UK and Head Office (in Brisbane) can make communication / meetings more challenging. Tend to promote from within which can make it difficult for outsiders to prosper / get a foot in the door
Advice to Management
Be more open to bringing external senior talent into the organisation - they may disrupt things for the better
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Flight Centre Travel Group (London, England (UK)) in February 2020.
Call from recruiter basically to arrange phone interview with hiring manager. Call from hiring manager very aggressive.
It was obvious she had very little knowledge about technical writing and had a fixed notion of what had to be done. When I apparently challenged her world view I was accused of being patronising and she ended the call.
Airlines all over the world ask for my opinion on how information dissemination is best applied to whatever context that airline is in. This is the first time I have ever been rebuked for asking for clarification.
