    Three years on from re-opening under new management, Bartholomew’s Public House is expanding its team. We are a Victoria institution and take great pride in offering one of the best pub experiences in the city. Our kitchen team delivers authentic, fresh pub favorites as well as modern classics. The bar’s 26 tap, craft draught beer list is constantly rotating and we boast (probably) the largest gin selection in the province with an equally impressive Signature G&T and cocktail list to match.

    We are operating multiple venues within The Double Tree by Hilton, Victoria, and are now looking for an individual to join our company to help develop and grow the business with us.

    The Role:

    The Pub & Restaurant Manager will work directly with the Director of Food & Beverage, The Executive Chef, the kitchen management team and the Bar Operations Manager to oversee the daily running of the business. The successful candidate will ensure all procedures, policies and expectations of the business are achieved to the agreed highest standard at all times.

    The main duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Overseeing the complete day to day running of the business
    • Recruiting, training and managing staff, holding regular meetings to communicate business performance and motivate staff
    • Gathering customer feedback, discussing with teams and implementing action to improve the overall experience for our guests
    • Designing, promoting and implementing marketing activity to attract guests and grow sales
    • Conducting regular stock checks, placing orders, completing monthly inventory and maintaining stock levels as required to suit business needs
    • Monitoring performance to ensure all business targets are being met or exceeded – sales, labor costs, overheads/expenses, cost of sales, net operating profit
    • Overseeing the maintenance of the premises, including cleaning and minor repairs
    • Holding regular meetings with the management team to review business performance and implement plans for improvement
    • Ensuring that the business follows and adheres to all applicable laws as set out by local, provincial and federal governments (Health and Safety, Liquor Licensing, Work Safe etc.)
    • Being available to work a combination of nights, days, weekends and holidays
    • Other duties as assigned and agreed to with Senior Management

    Experience and Qualifications Required:

    · Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Management role in the Hospitality Industry

    · Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language

    · Strong communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills as well as being able to perform positively under pressure

    · Excellent staff management, motivation and leadership skills

    · Ability to develop and deliver effective staff training in order to maintain and improve standards

    · Passionate and knowledgeable about food, wine, craft beer, spirits and cocktails

    · Menu planning and development experience for both food and beverage

    · Serving it Right certification

    · Extended working knowledge of POS systems (Squirrel or similar)

    · Experience with building relationships with suppliers, contractors and stakeholders

    · Able to place orders and complete monthly inventory

    · Experience with schedule planning and controlling labor costs

    Salary: From $56,000.00 - $60,000 per year (plus tip share)
