Our proprietary technology involves fabrication of polymer-based Capacitive Micromachined Ultrasound Transducers (polyCMUTs), which have unique characteristics that enable the use of ultrasound in applications not previously possible. Our technology has applications in various markets, including healthcare, non-destructive testing, and consumer electronics products.

    Who You Are:

    We are seeking a visionary AI and Machine Learning Research Scientist with a deep expertise in Computer Vision, especially in the area of medical image analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of the intricacies involved in patient data handling and the development of AI tools tailored for healthcare applications.

    Your role will be pivotal in guiding our company's initial endeavors in constructing an advanced AI platform. A successful candidate will exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit combined with a profound knowledge in AI and its applications in healthcare. You will collaborate extensively with our ultrasound software and transducer teams, leveraging your expertise to define optimal product specifications. Your insights will be crucial in transitioning prototypes into systems capable of generating comprehensive datasets, paving the way for future breakthroughs in AI and Computer Vision models.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the development and implementation of advanced AI and Computer Vision algorithms, particularly for medical image analysis.
    • Collaborate with the ultrasound software and transducer teams to define and refine product specifications that align with AI capabilities.
    • Sandbox, design, prototype and assess advanced models for various medical applications
    • Design and oversee the transition of prototypes to production, ensuring the capture of rich datasets vital for AI and CV model development.
    • Address the challenges of handling sensitive patient data, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and ethical standards.
    • Provide strategic guidance for the company's AI platform development, aligning technological advancements with business objectives.
    • Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in AI and Computer Vision, particularly in medical imaging, to continuously innovate and improve our solutions.
    • Design and develop creative solutions and novel algorithms in an applied research setting through rapid prototyping to validate hypothesis and identify promising directions to solve failure cases
    • Providing technical leadership and guidance to your team members and the broader organization.

    Requirements:

    • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision.
    • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in AI and machine learning, with a specific focus on computer vision in a field related to medical image analysis
    • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python, and familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
    • Experience with conventional and advanced image processing techniques and understanding of medical imaging modalities and data.
    • Experience with large-scale data analysis and handling of complex datasets.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage cross-functional teams, and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements relevant to healthcare technology and AI applications.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of innovative solutions in AI and machine learning.
    • Commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and computer vision, especially in the context of healthcare.
    • Practical experience in writing robust and maintainable production code
    • Proficient English verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.

    NICE TO HAVES:

    • Strong track record of research in related areas including but not limited to (preferring candidates with publications in top-tier venues such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV)
    • Hands-on experience working with medical ultrasound image datasets
    • Knowledge of patient data management challenges and understanding of the legal and ethical considerations in healthcare data.
    • Experience developing software under standards such as IEC 62304
