Waiter interview questions shared by candidates
After having to fill out the IDENTICAL application and waiting around, I was told by the manager at Tap & Barrel Convention Centre that he "didn't want to waste my time" but that they only hire servers with 2+ years' experience. What an arbitrary measurement of competence. I have met plenty of servers with more "experience" than that who are jaded as all hell and don't attempt to do a half decent job. Here's a piece of advice: Maybe ask all FOH staff who accept resumes to ask if applicants have at least 2 years' experience before taking their application? Before getting them to fill out an application outlining their hobbies and what drives them in the food & beverage industry? Saves everyone some time.
