What one thing my former employer would tell them that I wouldn't want them to say about me...

3 Answers

That I can become emotional, take things too seriously, take criticism too hard, and never take "NO" for the first, second, third, or hundredth answer. Seems like it worked for them. Less

My cocaine addiction is out of control.

Trick question. Former employers, by law, can only confirm you worked there and the dates you worked. Less

So just to clarify it was a negative interview but you still took on the role???? Less

Thanks for the insight

I was very candid and honest about my experience. However, the interview did not cover a lot of my resume. The interviewer was fairly unskilled at asking probing questions about my experience, mainly because the job was a scam. Less

First ten minutes in the building an HR Generalist went through resume asking for each job in the past ten years, would this employer rehire you, were you ever disciplined for behavior issues? how much notice did you give when you left? This takes place in a public area where others are meeting, then again the same questioning is done in front of the hiring manager. Whatever you do, DO NOT joke or use humor. They take this very seriously in a negative way.

HR at Alaska is an interrogation team looking for what you "can't" do not what you bring to the position. Less

If someone you knew were here right now, how would they describe your leadership ability?

What is a negative charactoristic of you?

Whatever you do, don't give them the number one reason to not hire you (ie. you tend to sleep on the job or you have a track record of getting into fights when confronted). Identify something that could be considered a negative, but could also be a positive, and then identify what you are doing to overcome this challenge (ie. "I have a tendency to be a perfectionist, and therefore I'm learning how to balance quality AND quantity, to be more effective AND more efficient". Less

I expect people to have the same values on the job as I do. I'm learning that some people haven't been taught how important good values are, especially in the work world. I've learn to ease up a bit, and how to teach values along with whatever else it is I need them to do. Less
