In an audit team describe a situation you may encounter when it is beneficial to be the leader in the group. When might it better to step back and observe and be a follower?

Its a tough question. The best answer will be: Leader: Try to the leader at any situation you can. A perfect example would be, when you know more than rest of the staff ( maybe insights into the industry, better knowledge of system etc) Follower: It is good to follow the lead when you don't have much experience. Sit back, observe and provide feedback if you see something out of the ordinary. Less

Yes, Gave him the names. At which point HR asked if I got any offers. I replied yes, still undecided. At which point he started pitching how everyone at the firm is so nice (not true, many people are not, especially one englishmen that tried to ask me out for drinks, I refused. After that point he wasn't so nice.) HR pitched a holiday party (ran out of food during actually party, which was in house), and after tax season lunch (none was provided that year). Less
They asked about past audit experience (inventory counts, busy season, etc.) and audit software exposure. Also, as they work with Federal government, they asked if I had a security clearance, or capable of obtaining and maintaining one.

I gave examples of what I had done, felt comfortable with, and what software I was familiar with. While I did not have a security clearance, I knew that obtaining one would not be difficult with several character references (former professors and peers) available. Less
