Do you believe in Big Foot?

Yes, I am married to her.

Do you want me to believe in Big Foot?
↳
I believe in Bigfoot as a symbol. A symbol for uneducated people that there may still be mystery and excitement in the world. A symbol so inspiring people will do absurd things to seek out that excitement. In this light, Bigfoot is an example of how easily people will believe in something they wanted to all along. Now we just need to convince them that a cruise will get them laid/ save their marriage/ reconnect them to their kids/ make them feel young again/ make memories that will last a lifetime and we'll be tripping over piles of cash. Is your college GPA reflective of your potential?
24 Answers↳
If you had a bad GPA, say no--find examples of where you excelled or how you adjusted. If you had a great GPA, say no--its just a silly number that is hugely inflated anyway. Point out things independent of your GPA that you're proud of and think better represent you potential . Less
↳
Hardly. A GPA is based on what you have achieved rather than on what you could achieve. I'm not saying the two are unrelated, but a GPA could also reflect the ability to work hard or to be a smooth talker. Three people might get the same GPA, while one is working hard as hell, the other is average but compensated with good social skills and talks his way out of everything and the third one is plain lazy but smart by nature. The potential of the three would be different in real life than in college. Less

A Russian gangster kidnaps you. He puts two bullets in consecutive order in an empty six-round revolver, spins it, points it at your head and shoots. *click* You're still alive. He then asks you, do you want me to spin it again and fire or pull the trigger again. For each option, what is the probability that you'll be shot?
13 Answers↳
1/4 for pulling the trigger. 1/3 for spinning and pulling the trigger.
↳
Consider where the bullets could be so they are consecutive: (BBxxxx), (xBBxxx), (xxBBxx), (xxxBBx), (xxxxBB), (BxxxxB). You have a 2/3 chance of getting shot on pull number 1. If you respin you still have that same chance, assuming the spin is random. Now assume the first was a blank. Only 4 of the cases above will work, and in one of them you'll get shot on a second pull. So your chances of getting shot are 1/4 on the second pull without a respin Don't respin! The two consecutive bullets makes this an interesting case, but what it means is that after a first blank you know *neither* bullet was in that position. This tips the probabilities just enough to make the right answer counterintuitive. The answer is just the opposite if there is only 1 bullet. In that case you should respin. Less
↳
Hmmm.. I think the odds are 2/5 for pulling the trigger or 2/6 (which is the same as 1/3) for spinning and then pulling. There's 5 chambers left and 2 bullets, where would 1/4 come from? Less

How many cans of paint would you need to paint one wing of a 747?
10 Answers↳
Of course, this is a terrible interview question if you believe in behavioral interviewing. But... Of course, the answer isn't what's important... it's the process that you go through to figure out the answer. "A wing is probably about 20 ft deep and 200 ft long so that's 4000 sq ft, a can of paint probably covers the four walls of an avg bedroom, so call that 50 sq ft, so about 80 cans..." Analysis is an important skill in almost any job, so throwing a question at you that you've probably never encountered is a way to surface your analytical skills. But then again, I don't like to ask these sorts of questions; I'd rather focus on concrete examples on a candidates past where they did analysis. Past behavior is a better predictor of future behavior, IMHO. Less
↳
this is a fairly standard question that has nothing to do with whether or not youve painted or stood on a 747's wing, it simply tests your logic ability, and your thought process. the interviewer was looking for a response that went something like this...."well, first i would want the dimensions of the wing, how big it is in square ft. next i would want to determine how many cans of paint are necessary for one sq. ft, next id want to determine how many coats of paint does the wing require. obviously you dont know the answer, but thats the thought process the interviwer wants to see, and again, its a fairly standard question for any kind of quant based marketing gig (which id imagine it is considering its netflix). Less
↳
This is an easy question for those used to travel. The answer is none. The wing of a 747 has virtually no paint on it because of some good reasons. First, the weight of the paint would decrease fuel efficiency dramatically and would require re-painting. Second, the only reason airlines paint the aircraft is for marketing purposes....that is the tail of the aircraft Less
