I used to work as a associate when I was in school. Once I graduated, I applied at a different location in a different city for a higher position.
This was by far the most unprofessional interview I have ever had. Was interviewed in managers office with door open so all the associates could hear the interview. She spent half the interview on her phone. Asked me why I didn’t apply for a job in my field (that was my field). Repeatedly told me that the person who’s job I was taking was going to want her job back in 3 yrs. and repeatedly told me that her associates didn’t want things to change cause they were “family” aka they do things they are not supposed to don’t want anyone to change that. She also mentioned how she basically didn’t have time to train anyone new. Which is funny because it doesn’t matter how many yrs of experience you have, every company is different and everyone goes through training.
Interview lasted maybe 30 mins. Didn’t get an offer, which I was glad about. She clearly didn’t want to be interviewing me and I didn’t want to work in what already seemed like a very unprofessional environment.
