Had a WhatsApp call with a young HR lady from the company office in Malaysia for this Singapore job position. Asked her why the interview screening is not from Singapore HR and she said the Singapore office asked the HR in Malaysia office to conduct the recruitment for the Singapore office. The key issue I had during the call was ageism. I was asked about my age (middle age) and I asked why is this relevant to this position. Instead the HR lady said their work environment is mostly young employees and how do I fit in. A week plus later her WhatsApp profile picture was gone from my phone view.
