While the interview process was as arduous and challenging as you will find for just about any retail job, the human resource reps at Wegmans are very kind and caring. You need to go through a phone interview with an employee rep, followed by a live interview with another employee rep, and finally a live interview with your department manager before being hired.

Interview
I was emailed a few days after applying online and set up a phone interview for that weekend. Phone interview was kind of awkward but the questions weren't too challenging -- be prepared to talk about food a fair amount. About 2 weeks later I was contacted to set up an in-store interview. This interview had basically the same questions, and the interviewer (who was the head chef) filled out a sheet as we went along. Not a bad experience, but there were so few available slots that he basically told me there they were not able to hire me.
