Interview
It was fine. I enjoyed my interviews. there were three rounds. Before we decided on what was going to happen. We chatted about my background, and how WealthSimple was growing. I really liked the people I spoke to. It was a slow and fast process.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Wealthsimple (Toronto, ON)
Interview
Order of Contact From Wealthsimple:
1) Senior Manager Email - Books Interview
2) Middle Manager - Conducts Initial Interview
3) Senior Manager - Conducts Final Interview
4) Job Offer
Demeanor of Interviews: Efficient, kind, pleasant
Good to Know: Conducted on the spot simulated job role exercise
The classic case of a startup. When you have immature and inexperienced hiring managers, you can't expect much anyway. The hiring manager was hasty and the responses lacked substance. Of course I didn't get an offer. You have to have the experience to know the value a candidate brings, which obviously comes with practice that was clearly missing here.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Straight out of the book. There was no scope for additional conversation. When I asked some questions, the person kept taking circles and couldn't explain things.
