I interviewed at Voice Media Group (Phoenix, AZ) in Jun 2021
Interview
This company is awful at what it seems...everything. Their interview process consists of 4 separate interviews. The last interview was some form of senior management. Mine was the CIO.
First off no one was really able to tell me what the job was about. Everyone seemed to be lost as to why they were hiring someone.
When I was speaking with the CIO, I felt like he was truly infantile. After 4 interviews, I could see exactly where this toxic environment comes from. I think the CIO was truly lost.
The reason I was done after 5 mins occurred when he said "I notice a red flag on your experience." Who says this? Are we out on a date? I was thinking then, "let me tell you about your RED FLAGS!"
The CIO then asked a few specific questions and I was dead on correct about my answers. I could tell he knows nothing about the subject that we were discussing.
The interview went on and on until I finally ended it.
Afterwards, my overall review of this company is they have very poor senior leadership but they have decent employees. VMG has a very toxic environment and does not mind showing that it has a great amount of trust issues, manipulation, lies and they came off as cheap or broke(you choose).
I would warn anyone against working here unless you are living on the street. This place is a mess. Possibly one of the worst I've seen.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Voice Media Group
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter, had a phone interview, then an in-person interview. The process was fairly easy took about 3 weeks from the application to final interview. I got the impression they are looking for someone who is willing to work 60+ hour work weeks for 40,000 a year. The office environment was very dark and most of the staff looked rather depressed and unhealthy. Hiring managers were nice enough.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
General questions pertaining to social media. Nothing terribly specific. Seems like a good entry level position for someone straight out of college. They stated they wanted someone with more experience, however I think they would be hard pressed to find someone with more experience who is will to work for an average of $10-13 an hour when all is said and done.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Voice Media Group (Phoenix, AZ) in Nov 2014
Interview
Went thru a recruiter, had 2 face to face interviews. Each was about 40 minutes long. I was qualified for the position but was more interested in an analytics role over an SEO development position.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Lots of technical questions in the second interview that were surprising, wanting me to explain how I would handle a customer and manage their expectations without giving me any information to base a plan off of. Mostly typical questions, the CEO came across a little rude and uninterested in what I had to say. I was surprised I didn't get an offer but I had the feeling they wanted someone cheaper and right out of college.
