I applied online. I interviewed at Varian Medical Systems in Jan 2023
Interview
Whole recruiting process is super slow. It took them ~2months for the recruiter to schedule an interview. The panel interview was little confusing. Not sure what they were looking for. Asked questions about my experience and they described the job duties. It was almost 95% match to the my work experience. Then asked me to write pseudo code for a simple problem. Didn't even give me an opportunity to complete, in 5 mins the interviewer interrupted and swifted to the next question. Although, I have asked clarifying questions and completed more than half of the pseudo code. It was a very simple question. Randomly asked me some questions which didn't make any sense, looked like they wanted to pass some time. This shows their unpreparedness.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- Pseudo code for a very simple function/puzzle - How do you keep up to date with latest technologies - A strange question, What is the hexadecimal equivalent to number 255. They were expecting to me answer this question instantly.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Varian Medical Systems (Pune) in Jan 2018
Interview
It started with an Online Coding Challenge followed by Technical Face to Face Round. I cleared the first round but could not pass through the second round. The second round was more about coding ability and problem solving skills check for which I was asked to do the stuffs on the white board. Overall It was a good experience knowing all the aspects where I may lag.
