I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Vanguard in Oct 2013
Interview
Culture is really team oriented. Started out with a phone interview based on the STAR technique and attended a final interview day with other candidates on site. Vanguard made sure that the candidates had a chance to speak with long term employees and former interns during their time on site.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions were mainly behavioral, where do you see yourself in 10 years, talk about a situation where you have disagreed with a coworker or your boss, etc.
Simple process. Went through Drexel with the co-op program. One phone call and then one in person interview with direct manager and then a week later received the offer. Pretty straight forward. Great company and good people.
The process spanned 3 rounds. First was resume and technical questions. Second was coding DSA and regressions. Third was research questions. Overall people were very nice, the process went smooth and fairly quickly.

Interview
Very chill, just behavior questions. Asked me about my communication style, what courses/knowledge of data science/machine learning that I had. Why I wanted to work in finance. It was very enjoyable/conversational.
