First interview was virtual, approximately 30 minutes. Three staff on interview panel IIRC. Stafg were very pleasant and friendly. Second interview was supposed to be at the physical USF Morsani College of Medicine Campus, but they cancelled that interview the morning of and requested my second interview be virtual instead. Second interview was pretty much exactly the same as the first, except they included another department head for a total of four staff on the panel. They invited me a second time to interview on campus and this time actually kept their appointment. I spent an hour touring the campus and then a second hour interviewing with a panel of five staff in-person. I felt all three interviews went really well and was told I’d hear back from them a week after the third. Two weeks passed and I reached out to politely ask if I was still being considered. No response. A month passed and I reached out again to humbly ask for interview feedback. No response. I’m used to companies not updating me after one interview, but I’ve never been this disrespected by a hiring company before. Three interviews, the third of which seemed only to happen because they had to cancel doing the second one in-person. Having me take hours out of my day to visit, just to ghost me entirely, going back on their word that I’d hear back and ignoring my follow-ups? Shameful. I was hurt and confused because the staff seemed really nice and I thought I did well. Lesson learned: don’t correlate friendly with respectful.
