      Embedded Software Engineer Interview

      Sep 1, 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Trimble

      Interview

The recruiter emailed me to let me know that she reviewed my information and would really like to speak with me. I found some time in my busy work week to schedule an interview for a week later. Here is when it gets extremely dumb. She called me and asked me the usual greeting questions. Then, she started to talk about my resume. I responded back by describing my experience, but she got frustrated and said "we're only looking for people with professional experience in this field." and hung up the phone. What a complete waste of time. First off, no where on the job posting did it asked for any time of years for professional experience in this field. Second of all, you clearly read my resume, because you said "After reviewing your information I would like to set up a time to discuss in more detail". So, you still wanted to speak with me. If you wanted professional experience with the field then why did you not write it on the job description. Why did I not get an automated denial for not meeting the "years of professional experience" that you mentioned over the phone that you want? Instead your company paid hours were wasted for you to waste my time. Completely unprofessional.
