The corporate recruiter was really good about following up, but I did feel that I was kind of given the run around in a way. First, I applied for a recruiter position and did a couple of phone interviews and did not get the position because I did not have the experience- absolutely understandable. After I did not get the position, the recruiter said if still interested in TQL, please do not get discouraged and continue to apply for positions that you see that look desirable. About a month after not getting the first position, I applied for a couple more as I was still really interested in the organization. These two positions that I applied for were pretty different in skill level as I understood from the job descriptions- one was moderately experienced in recruiting (similar to the first position that I applied for previously) and the other appeared very entry-level, which I thought would help get my foot in the door in the organization, and in the field, especially having a Bachelor's and currently working on my Master's in HR management. The same corporate recruiter called me and explained that the first position of the two that I applied for I was not qualified (not surprising as I did not get experience in the interim of the first denial application). But, I was then told that I was overqualified for the other position as that position was a "stepping stone" quoted by the recruiter where they saw somebody for a while in that position. From my resume, I am not a job hopper, nor should you tell somebody that in an interview about not getting a position because the position is made for somebody who will stick around. I found that extremely off putting. It just made me think if I was underqualified for one position and overqualified for the other, what was I qualified for when these positions were both under the recruiting umbrella just requiring different experience? After the first decline, I still seemed interested in the company as the recruiter was great. But, after this last go around, I just have a bad taste in my mouth about TQL as I feel that I was encouraged to continue to apply for positions and when I did, I was just given very non-descriptive misleading adverse responses.
