First you have to take a test and most of it is a math test without a calculator. It's pass/fail only and if you fail, they don't tell you what you need to work on and you aren't able to re-test for a year. Someone who has the experience but isn't able to complete the math part could be passed over by someone who can do math but has no public relations ability.
