      Flight Attendant Interview

      Dec 6, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Spirit Airlines in Dec 2015

      Interview

I just recently attended the interview in Dallas on December 3rd. It starts at 7am and lasts the entire day until about 7pm. First thing you do when you get there is wait in a long line to get to the sign in table. At the sign in table they ask for your resume, id, passport and social security card along with a copy of your high school diploma. Once they check all that they give you a name tag with your name and certain color on it. Then you go into a room with a couple hundred people and watch the presentation for about 2 hours then they have everyone spilt into their groups by the color of your name tag. So technically you're only competing with the people in your group instead of hundreds. In the first section of the day the whole room one by one stands in the front of the room and says their name and number, picks a question out of the fish bowl and answers it and then says their name and number again. During this part they're looking to see who can follow directions because you can even imagine how many people forgot to say their number and got cut because of it. Also the questions in the fish bowl are funny laid back questions, there's no right answer to them just smile and speak so the entire room can hear you. After this they make the first round of cuts. Then you do a group project with your table and create an airline. It's basically just the name of the airline and a slogan and 5 things to describe the airline/crew. In this part they are just looking to see how you work in a group so don't be bossy just have suggestions and make sure you do some writing or drawing on the board. Then you present as a group and after the whole room presents they make cuts again. Then you get a lunch break and if you've passed the first 2 rounds you're off to the 1 on 2 interviews. You wait in the big room you started in until they call your name. I was extremely nervous for the individual interview but Spirit really keeps the whole day and atmosphere fun. In the individual interview they ask you to read this paragraph that you usually hear the flight attendants say over the speaker. Then they ask you to sell them something off the menu. All you have to do is quickly memorize a few items to "sell" to them and look at the combinations to sell. Then they ask maybe 3-5 scenario questions which is common sense about customer service and dealing with difficult customers or other employees. Also you do a "50lb bag lift" over your head but I can guarantee you the bag is not 50lbs at all. After your individual interview you go sit in a "decision room". At this point I'm pretty sure you know you got hired or not if they ask you to enter your information into a computer. Because me and 3 people in the room entered our info into the computer and we got hired and I didn't see them ask this girl that came in right after me to use the computer and then I didn't see her in the paperwork room afterward so I'm guessing that's how you know if you're hired before they tell you. So once they say you're hired you spend a bunch of time with paperwork, finger printing, badge pictures and a drug test. FYI do not plan a flight home the same day of the interview unless it's very very late at night because I saw about 10 people miss their flight home. If you're traveling you most likely need to stay in a hotel for 2 nights. Sorry this is so long I just wanted to be specific!!! :) I added some of the fishbowl questions I heard below hope it helps!
