      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Silencer Shop

      Interview

I applied through a recruiting agency and first had a video call with someone from the company. That initial conversation went well and there seemed to be strong interest in my background. During that first call I asked whether there would be a coding challenge and was told there would not be one. I still prepared just in case. I was later invited to a three-hour in-person interview with the team and was told they were excited to move forward. The in-person interview experience felt quite different from the initial conversation. The interview did not appear to follow a structured format, and most questions seemed to come up spontaneously rather than around a clear evaluation process. At one point during the interview the team decided to introduce a coding challenge, even though I had previously been told there would not be one. The problem itself appeared to be looked up online during the interview. When I asked a few clarifying questions about the problem, I was told I could not ask questions about the challenge. I still completed the problem and explained a solution with O(n) complexity. I also shared my portfolio and walked through several projects I have worked on, including systems that are used globally, but only a few interviewers asked follow-up questions about the technical details. During the interview I noticed what felt like some friction in the team dynamic. At times the discussion became somewhat pedantic, focusing on small details rather than the broader technical picture. The interview was scheduled for three hours and was supposed to include lunch with the team. However, about halfway through it seemed like the group had run out of questions and the meeting ended earlier than expected. Overall the experience felt somewhat unstructured and gave the impression that expectations for the role were not fully aligned among the interviewers. At the end, I called the recruiter and told him I wasnt interested in the position anymore.

      Question 1

Can you walk us through one of the systems or projects you built and explain your role in it? And a looked up coding challenge.
