I attended 2 of the Shopify intern info sessions and decided to apply. Completed the technical challenge after 3 days and then applied on May 12th.
I got a notification that my application was viewed on May 13th, but wasn't contacted immediately. On June 6th I got an email inviting me to a life story interview. I had the interview on June 13th.
The interview felt great, you literally choose what you want to share and the interviewer will dig deeper into why you made the choices you did on your journey to where you are now.
I didn't make it past this step, which is unfortunate because I didn't get a chance to learn from a technical coding interview, but they recommended I try again in 6 -12 months which I'll definitely do.
