I applied on Gaijinpot and had an initial online screening of about 30 minutes in which the recruiter described more in detail what the job is, the two sides of the work (GKC which is an after school program and SEA which is a more of an immersive STEAM program). I was given time to ask questions in the first round, and immediately informed that I was invited to the second round. Round two was held in person. The questions were more challenging, but nothing out of the ordinary. I was also told to give a brief demo lesson. The staff handed me a stack of cards and told me to give a five minute demo. A challenge, but manageable. My guess is even if you don't do so well at the actual teaching but have a good attitude and energy, they will still accept it, but give some more pointers. I thought I did not so well, but they were very positive. The interviewer, Masaki-san was absolutely wonderful. His warm energy, professionalism, and clear communication made me feel good about working with Seiki. The only reason I turned it down is because of working through Christmas. The vacation days are typical Japanese holidays. Christmas might be hard to get off, although employees do get 10 days of PTO. Overall, I got a good impression of the company and I think it would be a great place to work.
