I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Secure Energy Services (Edmonton, AB) in Feb 2023
Interview with hiring manager was fairly straight forward, they asked questions about my past experience, research projects and general interests. There were no HR type questions and HR was not apart of the overall interview process; only the person I would be working under was.
- Describe your experience at [competitor]

Phone interview, in-person, group introduction for culture fit. Basic questions over the phone with HR rep. In person interview is with HR rep, manager, and team member. Group meet is awkward.
- VERY STANDARD, be prepared to answer questions about the role and company. Questions like name a time when you had conflicting priorities, how did you handle it

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Secure Energy Services (Calgary, AB) in Jul 2016
A phone call, and about an hour interview with HR and the relevant managers. Pretty standard questions are asked. This company has many offerings and it's important to know the scope of the company. Secure is a service company so you need to clearly know how you will bring value to your customer.
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Explain a time where you dealt with conflict? Why should we hire you? Name a time you took a risk, the consequences and the analysis of said risk.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Secure Energy Services (Calgary, AB) in Aug 2014
Received a phone call interview. Was given an overview of what the company does and asked a few questions about what made you apply for the job, where do you see yourself in 5 years, what are your expectations for the job etc. then was told there will be two more interviews . One with the manager the position was to report to and the second was an informal, casual with the team that the position will be working with. Before finishing asked what my salary expectations were. Then someone would contact me within a week but never did.
- All questions were what I expected them to ask.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Secure Energy Services (Calgary, AB)
I applied online, was contacted 10 days later to schedule an interview, and 2 weeks later had the interview. 10 days later I got an email saying the decision will be made once the 2014 budget numbers are in, and the HR person who was in touch with me added me on LinkedIn. However, no more communications came from the company. When I contacted the HR person who scheduled my interview and asked for an update - there was no response. I feel that the least you can do for people who took the time in the middle of the day and spent money on parking downtown to come see you - is get back to them and let them know of your decision. I think this lack of common courtesy was rude.
- - The interviewers asked me how much I was getting paid, I told them my base pay (which is below average in my field) and they appeared to think that it was too high - I was told the company has a lot of young people working there, which might mean that there is a lack of expertise and guidance - The projects I would be working on were not discussed, instead I was told "we're not sure what you would be working on exactly, but there's work"

Easy interview process. Super laid back and didn't ask too many questions. I asked more questions than they did. Located downtown so it is easy for to get to for those who live downtown or in the surrounding areas. A few of us rode our bikes.

1 interview, easy and basic. Your standard entry level job interview at an energy related company. Had two accountants do an in person interview after a very basic phone screen. Overall very easy and was a conversation.

Informal, met a bunch of management. Spoke directly with Supervisor. Didn't have to get past the HR department first like other industries. Drug tested, Got set up with truck and equipment a week later, week after that sent out in the field.
- Past experiences

Initially the VP that was interviewing was not sure why we were meeting as he was asked to provide an interview and I was not sure why I was there either as the division I was interviewing with did not have anything to do with my skillset. It was determined later that a new service line would be added so I was asked to start it.
