      Application

      I interviewed at SUNY Buffalo

      Interview

Being a PhD student and having a CS background, I was approached to teach technically oriented courses from the beginning of my PhD program. I taught these courses as part of my GA duties. However, this changed to a more comprehensive adjunct instructor position after my fourth year in the PhD program. There was no formal hiring process.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I was asked to set up labs with another professor and that turned out logistically difficult.

      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at SUNY Buffalo in Apr 2021

      Interview

Very very friendly and easy going. Decsribed briefly the position and the teaching load. Details about the expectations were also provided. Director of the undergraduate program was involved. Mainly conducted by the clinical assistant professors in the department.

      Adjunct Instructor Interview

      Anonymous employee
      Amherst, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SUNY Buffalo (Amherst, NY) in Dec 2012

      Interview

Easy interview itself but a lot of bureaucratic red tape. Had several phone calls and emails from department chair to set up meeting and then department administrator to cancel and reschedule meetings. This was mainly because it was the busiest time if the semester. The chair was extremely nice but mostly vague about everything.
