I interviewed at S&P Global (Dallas, TX)

      Interview

I recently interviewed with S&P Global, and I had a positive experience throughout the process. Introduction: The interview began with a friendly introduction. The interviewer made me feel comfortable and set a positive tone for the conversation. Technical Questions: AWS and Cloud Architecture: They asked questions related to AWS, VPC (Virtual Private Cloud), and subnets. We discussed how to architect solutions on the cloud, which allowed me to showcase my knowledge of cloud technologies. SQL: I faced three SQL-related questions. These questions tested my ability to write efficient queries. I needed to demonstrate my understanding of database concepts and problem-solving skills. Overall Impression: The interview process was smooth and well-organized. The focus was on assessing practical skills and problem-solving abilities. I appreciated the emphasis on both technical and cultural fit.

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at S&P Global (New Delhi) in Jan 2025

      Interview

Gotcha! Here’s a more *sarcastic but slightly formal* version — enough spice, but polished: --- The interview at S&P Global wasn’t particularly difficult — fairly standard with a strong focus on OOPS, DBMS, Computer Networks, Operating Systems, and a few puzzles. I performed exceptionally well and even received very positive feedback from the interviewer, who mentioned I had aced the interview. It was a diversity hiring round, so naturally, one would assume performance would play a key role. Interestingly though, someone who struggled to solve the puzzles and couldn’t confidently answer many of the questions ended up getting selected — while I, despite excelling in all aspects, was not. Still trying to decode the selection criteria — perhaps they were hiring for a role where underperforming under pressure was the desired trait. 😂
