Filled out application through LinkedIn and contacted shortly after by Charles Dray (CEO) for a screening call with their Business Analyst.
That was a great conversation which was followed up by a request to fill out a candidate spreadsheet via email (which I did) and a statement to "feel free to try out the PulseCheck feature on our website".
While I probably should have done that, it was at EOQ and EOY and just didn't get a chance. I wake up to see a passive aggressive message from Charles...
"We’re still waiting for you to complete the steps we requested.
Are you having second thoughts completing the Pulse Check assessment Grace asked you to complete? It was even in the invite.
We expect candidates to take the initiative and show an interest in the company’s free products.. we prefer not to have to remind a candidate several times. If you don’t want to complete it, thats fine too."
A) This is the first reminder, it was not several times.
B) The link originally sent didn't even take me to their PulseCheck page, it led to a sign up page that wasn't even functional.
C) I sent him two follow up messages from the initial call where he could have politely reminded me (I thought those follow ups showed initiative)
D) A few minutes after after messaging him that the link didn't work, he had his analyst email me that they would be moving on because I didn't complete the 'required' assignment.
Overall - this was a poor experience with someone who clearly has narcissistic tendencies. I have worked for people that message like this and, trust me, you will never succeed. Everything bad will be your fault, everything great will be due to their work. You'll end up being out in 6-12 months, just like the last person that had this role at Resonance.
