      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance (Toledo, OH) in Apr 2013

      Interview

Found the job listing on Indeed.com. Proceeded to apply online. A day later I received an email saying I would be advanced to take an online test. Took about an hour, wasn't terribly hard. The next day I got an email saying I passed the test and would be getting a phone call to schedule a phone interview. A lady called to set up my phone interview. She gave me tips on how to prepare for the phone interview. My advice to people applying...do research about the company (first question I was asked). Explain about their core values and their innovative history. Prepare for STAR answers. Had my phone interview. Went great! Started out by talking about the company, my education, and then my work experience. This is where I was able to explain, over and over, that I enjoyed customer service and building trust. (This is a customer service job. You need enjoy working with customers). Had about 7 behavioral questions. Afterwards, I asked if she had any concerns about my fit for this role. She said she did not and proceeded to set up my 1-on-1 interview. Also began my background check. BE HONEST; they are going to personally call all of your previous employers. Phone call was about 45 minutes long. I was set up to meet with the Regional Claims Manager that same week. I arrived early and met with him shortly. Same type questions that were asked, a lot more "small talk". Told me the best of luck and that I should hear from my recruiter soon. Five hours later I got a phone call from the recruiter extending an offer of employment. Said she needed to wait for my background check to clear. The following Monday the formal job offer was sent to me. Overall time frame: 15 days from applying to receiving formal offer.

      Interview

Very impersonal and did not get to speak to someone in person everything was video recorded. It took a long time for them to finally decline my video interview. That's it

      Interview

The interview process is pretty strenuous. You do have an assessment that you have to take. Before you get the in person interview. After you do the assessment you do have virtual star question method questions that you have to answer. If you don’t do well with that you won’t get the final interview with the recruiter or hiring person. Definitely study STAR questions. They’re kinda hard. And then the final interview they do ask you a few star questions as well. You can use the ones from your virtual interview. It was really easy-going though. I did appreciate how easy the conversation was for the final interview.
