I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Planet Fitness (Indianapolis, IN) in Aug 2015
Interview
The interview was an extremely detailed and lengthy process for such a low paying job. You only need a minimum of high school education, but I was asked to provide four professional references, and they had to mostly be in supervising roles. There were also three parts to the interview process. I had a quick phone interview, which was to also set up my first in-person interview; I was also told to bring my references as well. After the first in-person interview, I was told that they would check all my references and get back to me. Got called back to set up a second in-person interview with the same hiring manager, where I was basically told that the next step was that I would be interviewed by the regional manager. I got a call from the regional manager and was interviewed. When they were done asking questions, I was told that I finally got the job. All interview questions were standard.
It took almost two weeks to get a call for an interview. I had a phone interview with the general manager. I was asked a few questions before I was schedule for an interview in person.

Question 1
I was asked about my availability and customer service experience.
I received a quick 15-minute phone screening followed by meeting with the area and club managers. This all happened within about 2 weeks. I’d say the process was fairly typical to other similar positions.
