I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Oura
Interview
Got a referral for a role. Took about 2 weeks for the recruiter to get to me. The recruiter doesn't respond to emails or asks for your availability. They'll just randomly call on you and disregard the availability you tube them. Scheduled call for next day. Then a few days later was scheduled for first round.
Passed that, was then asked for my availability for the second round. The interviewer had a conflict and so the recruiter just changed the date to a date and time I wasn't able to make. I emailed asking them to change it, but nothing came of it, so I canceled my plans to fit the new second round interview date. It went really well and I was waiting for the 3rd round.
I messaged the recruiter that I'm in the late rounds of other interviews, and if we could speed it up a little. Not response. A week later sent an email that I have 2 offers with a deadline. She then called me 5 minutes later and asked me what my availability is and then ghosted me again.
Applied online, got almost instantly invited to do a coding assessment. It was timed and limited to 30 minutes. While the problem wasn't particularly difficult, navigating an unfamiliar platform and handling all the test cases within that time frame was a lot. I don't like multi-hour assessments either but 30 minutes was more reminiscent of a crisis than normal operations. Never spoke to a person so I imagine they are casting a wide net in a low-effort sieve.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Oura (Helsinki, Southern Finland) in Nov 2025
Interview
The interview started with a referral from an old colleague. The interviews were scheduled quickly. There were 4 rounds with the whole process taking 20 days from initial contact to offer.
The 2 technical interviews were a whiteboarding session and a online coding challenge. The coding challenge was about implementing algorithms using my own chosen tools. I used Python and VSCode.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Oura (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2025
Interview
The recruiter was great as she seemed really excited about my 20 years experience. Then it all changed with the hiring Manager interview. First off, he was late and only left me 4 minutes to ask questions at the end. He didn't even know what job i was interviewing for until the end when I was able to ask a question. He had to ask me!! I realize that my interview was at the end of the day and he was bored, but he could have shown some enthusiasm. No personality - I felt like I was talking to a wall. Zero interaction with him. Zero questions regarding my experiences. He just asked 'check box' questions from a list. Really sad experience.
