I applied through a common site and they expressed interest right away, said they wanted to set up an initial phone call with their HR lead and one of their medical people. That then morphed into a shorter multi-rescheduled call just with the HR person that was very basic. I was then asked to give my mailing address as they wanted to send some company swag (never got) and they also wanted me to do a writing assignment. Reasonably straightforward although sort of difficult to understand how much background to give and whether or not they cared about terminology definition for level of training, etc. after lots of close and closed-loop communication throughout all the other steps, I submitted my assignment on time with a cover note and then…crickets. After a week, I finally sent a “guess you’re not interested…” email and quickly got back a canned “we’ve decided not to move forward…” response, along with (sort of hilariously) a whole page of self-care suggestions. I’ll be fine, thanks.
