Went through four rounds of interviews, up to the VP level. Overall the process felt polite and professional. With one exception -- they gave me a 4-hour design exercise they said was not spec work, but the only person who asked to see it was the very person in charge of solving that design problem for the company. If it was just an exercise to show how I approach design, wouldn't all the designers on the hiring team want to see it? Struck me as odd/shady.
