      Interview

      Outline of the process is as follows: - Initial phone interview with Instant Impact - Zoom interview with a member of Instant Impact - Psychometric literacy and maths test (extremely difficult) - Discovery Day + first interview with Octopus Energy staff - Final interview with Octopus Energy I will begin by saying that I withdrew myself from the process at the point of Discovery Day ( despite making it through ) as over the course of the interview stages it was almost impossible to be patient since it's an EXTREMELY long process for a very mediocre position/wage. I understand that there is a specific type of person they'd like to hire, but honestly in the time it took to get to the Discovery Day from the initial interview, I had interviewed and been offered 3 separate jobs within in that time. It's worth noting too that the Psychometric Tests are extremely difficult, so make sure you do all the revision possible as you have about a minute per question - inclusive of trying to work it out and gather together an answer. In regards to Instant Impact, Tayla was very helpful during the process and did offer to pull the dates forward to gather a decision sooner because of my situation in balancing offers, but without the guarantee of securing the position it just seemed implausible to turn down the other positions in hope that I'd be offered the role at Octopus. On the contrary, ignoring my e-mail that I sent in regards to turning down the position and not even acknowledging my appreciation of the help was a very bitter move on her part; making me question whether she was indeed truly impressed by me or if that was to try and keep me interested so she can get her commission based off of a successful recruit. Overall, I have a bad taste in my mouth about this company now (even after being so excited to work for them) and I wouldn't recommend them even just on the basis of the interview process.

My name is James and one of the things I am accountable for is the recruitment process across Operations. Your comments are valid to your experience and your perspective, and I'll address each aspect of them. Whilst I don't know exactly who this is, I've looked into all candidates in Brighton over the last few weeks and I've spent time talking with Instant Impact about this too. Firstly, your understanding of our process is accurate. It is not short, and it does require a big commitment from candidates. The reason for this, is that we only hire the best and most committed candidates. The process as it is currently designed does a very good job in identifying those candidates. The result of this selection process is an amazing and quickly growing team that looks after our customers better than any of our competitors. It also means amongst the lowest levels of attrition in the industry and staff happiness whilst not perfect, well above industry average. Moving onto the tests, they give us an insight into a candidates ability to do the job. It can be quite technical and it does require a good numerical and verbal competency. Being at the cutting edge of using technology to drive better outcomes for the environment using smart and flexible tariffs, means we need people who can unpick and work through live & challenging problems. The work isn’t easy, and it’s unlike working in Operations for most of our competitors. Finally, I’ve spoken with the team in Instant Impact about any mistakes over the last number of weeks. I’m sorry that you didn’t get a response to your email. You will get a response and I will ensure that we do better moving forward. Our partners at Instant Impact don’t work off commission, so it’s not that you were ignored because of that.       people are friendly but there are 3 rounds of interviews - Video interview, Discovery Day and individual interviews. I'd say the whole process is a bit long for an entry customer service role. But overall speaking, it's not too bad.

      Ein erstes Kennenlernen über Video Call und dann ein paar Tage später ein Gespräch mit den Teamleitern. Die Rückmeldung kam auch recht zeitnah. Allem in allem ein guter Prozess, jedoch wären klarer Informationen zu einzelnen Vertragsdetails wünschenswert.
