Thanks for taking the time to leave the review, but more importantly thank you for taking part in our process.
My name is James and one of the things I am accountable for is the recruitment process across Operations.
Your comments are valid to your experience and your perspective, and I'll address each aspect of them.
Whilst I don't know exactly who this is, I've looked into all candidates in Brighton over the last few weeks and I've spent time talking with Instant Impact about this too.
Firstly, your understanding of our process is accurate. It is not short, and it does require a big commitment from candidates.
The reason for this, is that we only hire the best and most committed candidates. The process as it is currently designed does a very good job in identifying those candidates.
The result of this selection process is an amazing and quickly growing team that looks after our customers better than any of our competitors. It also means amongst the lowest levels of attrition in the industry and staff happiness whilst not perfect, well above industry average.
Moving onto the tests, they give us an insight into a candidates ability to do the job. It can be quite technical and it does require a good numerical and verbal competency. Being at the cutting edge of using technology to drive better outcomes for the environment using smart and flexible tariffs, means we need people who can unpick and work through live & challenging problems. The work isn’t easy, and it’s unlike working in Operations for most of our competitors.
Finally, I’ve spoken with the team in Instant Impact about any mistakes over the last number of weeks. I’m sorry that you didn’t get a response to your email. You will get a response and I will ensure that we do better moving forward.
Our partners at Instant Impact don’t work off commission, so it’s not that you were ignored because of that. We purposely don’t work off a traditional commission model because we want better outcomes for candidates.
