I applied online. I interviewed at Macy's (Tukwila, WA) in Dec 2014
Interview
The interview process for the position was a classic bait-and-switch. When I arrived for the interview--on time and dressed appropriately--I was told the position I'd applied for had been filled, but, oh, would I be interested in sales? I had no experience whatsoever in sales, and no particular desire to be in sales, so I said, "Frankly, no," and got up to leave. I had traveled almost an hour to get to the interview site, and I felt I'd wasted my time.

Application
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (New York, NY) in Oct 2019
Interview
The process consisted of a preliminary round in a small room with other one-on-one interviews in process and then a conversation with a supervisor. The first interviewer followed a very predictable pattern of questions. The second chat was much more in-depth and allowed for more inquiries about the specific role.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Albuquerque, NM) in Oct 2014
Interview
I applied for the position online. I got a reply the next day asking me to schedule an interview. I scheduled at the next available time slot. I arrived at the store fifteen minutes early, was met by a manager who asked me interview questions. She asked me to talk about a time in which I used integrity to solve a problem, a time in which I had to sell something to a customer, a time in which I had to offer a customer an alternative, and why I chose Macy's. I promptly answered with examples from my retail experience. After the last question, she proceeds to tell me that THE POSITION HAS ALREADY BEEN FILLED but that she can refer me to the manager in charge of Sales Associates if I am interested. Never in all of my experience have I been dealt with so unprofessionally. Who lets an interviewee continue on with the interview knowing that you're not going to hire them? So rude. I will never work for Macy's if this is how they treat people.
