Extremely strange interview. The interviewer was a VP who came to my school to conduct interviews for the Management Development Program. He started off the interview with the basic "Tell me about yourself" and when I was done with that he had no more questions and just started ranting about Buffalo, his family, the interview process, and had no coherent strategy to the interview. I tried to talk about my skills and why I was interested in the bank and he just stared at me. Then I asked about the marketing positions for which I was applying and he knew nothing about them, nor did he know any details about the program. If you're going to interview someone, you should be abe to answer a few softball questions!
A couple weeks after the interview I got an email that I needed to fill out a long online application. I thought this was a good sign and completed the whole thing. Within 5 minutes of submitting it I received a rejection notice from them saying I didn't get the job! Why did I have to fill out the application if I was going to get slammed anyways?
M&T Bank might be a good place to work, but their interview process definitely needs some work.

The interview process consists of an initial interview with a dedicated MDP HR manager for entry to the MDP program. Subsequent interviews are for business unit/team placement and are conducted by one or more department managers.

relatively easy process: 1st round is an easy informational interview, happened 2 weeks after the first round. 2nd round is just as easy, simple questions about resume. Final Round in buffalo was mostly behavioral and fit questions with the managers of the group you’re applying for, no technical or tough curve ball questions.
