Fun and friendly but you definitely need a lot of confidence! They’re looking for personality and it’s a lot of role play and fun games just to get to know you!
- If you could create any lush product what would it be

couple of activities on the shop floor (make a poster and present it, sell a random item from a box) and then a one to one interview with the manager.
- why do you want to work here

Had to attend an in person interview and then a trial shift, was pretty good, got a good understanding of what is expected from you in order to get the role. The in person interview wasnt intense at all and was just about getting to know you better as a person
- What are your feelings about customer service?

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lush (Clapham Junction, England) in Jul 2022
So I did my interview at Clapham Junction store, first of all we all waited outside then we entered and they asked our name what contract we want and then made us wait. The manager states she doesn’t know why she’s being so nice and waiting for anyone else to show up pass the interview time. Then further more, we got split into groups of 3 and taken to each task, one was to find a perfect perfume given to the scenario, next was to practice arm massaging and third was gifts to find the best gift for someone. My personal experience I got put with 2 people who was very loud and everytime I tried to speak in, I couldn’t get a word in. The team members were very much it was clear they knew what they wanted. I personally feel as though I did quite well however the task with the massaging - well what if you weren’t comfortable to have someone rubbing your arm? Feel like this stuff should be listed before you show up to an interview plus in my group I was the only one who dressed smart, was there not a dress code? At the end the manager said she would want people to do a trial shift on the weekend, I already stated I wouldn’t be able to do the weekend as my job I’m still in I had a shift with and I think personally that’s why I didn’t make it through. My feedback was : ask more questions to establish the needs of the customer. However it was scenario based so how can I ask more questions when it’s not a real situation? I’d say just be open minded going into this interview and be prepared to be there for 2 hours.
- What perfume would u recommend to someone who likes sweet smells.

It was a group interview consisting of different stages. I was asked to give a demonstration of a product and to use selling techniques on random objects. Was fun but exhausting.
- How would you sell a product to a customer.

Group interview. Had to practice giving product demos. We split up into pairs and had time to learn ingredients and practice what we would say during the demo. This reflects what you do with customers on a daily basis. Made posters. Individual questions. 30 people there at one.
- Tell me a time when you provided good customer service.

They brought about 100 of us in to do a “hiring party” that consisted of various tasks we had to “perform” to the group, such as describing a product (we did not get to choose the product, so advanced knowledge was required which wasn’t made clear to us before).

The interview was light-hearted and fun but was done as a group which can be a little daunting. We started with some ice breakers and then we had to learn about the products and also engage in some roleplay.
- We did an ice breaker where we had to tell the group two lies and a truth - the group had to decide which. We were then given a product to memorise facts about and present the product to the group.
