LSI had a bunch of entry-level postings on their website, had applied externally. Got a call from their HR asking me about my availability, he had some basic set of questions that he asked. The first round went all and he told that since I was available locally, they would be calling me in directly for a face-to-face. However, surprisingly got an interview call from one of the hiring managers for a technical phone which lasted about 45 odd mins. He asked me questions from my resume as well as basic ASIC design questions. Was called for an on-site the following week. I was told that there would be other fresh candidates. On the day of the interview, we were 16 people. We started the day at 9 in the morning with an hour long information on what the company does and how they have been doing in this economy. I felt they were transparent on the company information and how they were better than their rivals. There were around 16 people to interview 16 of us. Had 3 rounds of face-to-face before lunch, 45 mins each. 1 hour break for lunch and then again 3 interviews 45 mins each. The interviews consisted of very basic set of technical questions. However, I felt the interviews were more concentrated on behavioral questions rather than technicality. They were to select and call few people more from the group of 16 for 2nd round of on-site. At the end of the day, I was definitely sure that my technical part was all good.
