When I applied to Local Public Eatery, I was surprised to see they used a one-way video interview process. While I understand the intent is to streamline hiring, this approach felt impersonal and disconnected, especially for a hospitality role where interpersonal skills are so important. Candidates record answers to pre-set questions, with no opportunity to ask questions or clarify responses. For a company that emphasizes creating welcoming environments, I believe incorporating live interactions into the interview process would not only create a better experience for candidates but also allow the company to make more informed hiring decisions.

Sent a link to record a video interview. They asked 4 questions which were shown at the top of the screen and the system gave you three attempts to record an answer for each question and then choose which one you wanted to submit. Overall strange process but could be worse
