I applied online. I interviewed at Kohl's (Passaic, NJ) in Aug 2014
Interview
Applied online through snagajob and one week later got a call from the recruiting manager on a Friday. That Monday we scheduled the interview. She was very nice on the phone. Explained the pay, hours, ect. That Monday I went in to customer service and there was one other lady sitting there waiting with me. She came in and we went into seperate rooms so it was a one on one interview. I studied questions from this website online which did help. While I answered the questions she was writing down my answers. It almost felt as if I was talking to myself since she was looking down writing some things I said. She laughed at my answers, I'm thinking in a good way - which is how I felt. Simple questions about customers and situation based questions. Just be honest and descriptive as possible. Then she told me she is going to hire me. After that I filled out more paper work and she told me I will get a call next week two days before orientation. I am a college student that needed a flexable schedule which didn't seem to affect my application process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Is a customer always right? What do you do when you can't come into work?
The interview process was pretty straightforward, virtual interview a week after applying. Didn't have many issues or anything confusing. I did ended up working there. Managers were ok but pay was pretty low.
Phone screening interview to go over resume and job requirements, mainly confirming what my availability would look like, what it entailed, and if I'd be comfortable with the sales part of the job/promoting the store rewards and credit card. Very friendly and low-pressure conversation over the phone.
The process was pretty average, it was just a little awkward trying to find someone to ask to know where I needed to go. Once I got in the back room i was asked pretty normal questions and nothing that was too hard to answer or too perosnal
