      Software Engineer II Interview

      May 14, 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Klaviyo (Boston, MA) in Apr 2026

      Interview

Applied on LinkedIn. Recruiter reached out via email/candidate portal. Recruiter call was easy/straightforward. They were able to accommodate an accelerated timeline so OA followed quickly after via CodeSignal. Didn't pass but was told there were at least 2 more rounds after the OA.

      Interview

HR Call, async tech screen, hiring manager convo, virtual onsite. Mostly a fair process that was pretty practical. The team was generally very nice. You have to get a certain distance in the technical screen on the onsite stage to get an offer.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Klaviyo (Boston, MA) in Sep 2024

      Interview

Received an email for a phone screen less than a week after applying. After screening, they sent a link for a CodeSignal technical assessment which wasn't too bad. Consisted of 3 parts, each iterating over the previous implementation. Really enjoyed it as it was more practical than the usual leetcode style problems. A day or two later, was a system design interview. I felt like I over-prepared but essentially I was explaining in detail a feature I implemented in my previous role. Final step was a 3 hours final round interview. First part was a simple Weather App assignment with an obscure library to test how you problem-solve and look up documentation. I definitely did not performed as well as I could here as I was stuck up on the obscure library. Second part dealt with an existing Python/SQL script, which we had to review, optimize, and spot any mistakes or security concerns. Finally it ends with an interview with the hiring manager which I can't recall at the moment. Overall it was a positive experience, only reason I put neutral is because I don't believe they are upfront about hybrid, it sounded like they will transition to full on-site soon. 1. Initial phone screening. 2. Code Signal assessment 3. System Design interview. 4. 3 hours final round interview (Weather App, Python/SQL, Hiring Manager)
