I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Kappa Alpha Theta (Indianapolis, IN) in Feb 2018
Interview
First are the applications due December 1st. The application includes three essays, three recommendations, and a transcript.
Applicants are notified 2-3 weeks later if they will have a skype interview. The skype interview is only about 15 minutes long. The questions are fairly specific to Theta and the ELC role. For example, they asked what the most difficult thing about being an ELC would be for me.
In person interview weekend was intense. The current ELCs and headquarters staff watch the candidates at all times. There was an activity in which every candidate had to read a situation in front of all the current consultants and staff and respond as an ELC would with no time to prepare.
