I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at KFC (Brisbane) in Mar 2015
Interview
I was first asked by a staff member to wait at a table. When the manager approached me, I stood up, shook her hand to give her a good impression of me. She introduced herself and started to ask me questions relating to school (see interview questions). After that, she asked me about how I would react to certain situations and questions on customer service (also see below). It felt more like a discussion rather than a q&a. The manager looked like a very kind person and I was a lot less nervous as I thought I'd be. All the answers I gave felt more like natural responses than textbook answers. Then finally I was asked to do a quiz which had "what would I do in this situation" type questions and some problems involving basic multiplicatand, addition and subtraction.

Initial Screening If your application moves forward, you may get a brief screening phone call from a hiring manager to discuss your availability, interest in the position, and basic qualifications.
In-Person Interview Candidates who pass the initial screening are usually invited for an in-person interview at the KFC restaurant. This interview is commonly conducted by the general manager or assistant manager.
Interview Questions You can expect a mix of common interview questions about your experience, goals, availability as well as some behavioral-based questions to assess your customer service skills and ability to handle situations you may encounter in a fast food environment.
Skills Assessment Depending on the role, you may be asked to complete a short skills assessment related to tasks like cash handling, food safety knowledge, or basic math skills needed for the job.
Background Check If you make it through the interview stage successfully, KFC will initiate a background check before finalizing the hiring decision.
The interview was very straight to the point. They sat you down, started with introductions, and began asking questions. The Manager was very approachable and overall the interview process went very smoothly.
